Solitude.

"Dad reckons fishing is 10% brains and 95% muscle, the rest is just good luck." - Dale Kerrigan, 1997.

Old cd's

I was going through some old cd's (in the process of packing my room) and this was one of my favourite songs in early High School. I often use the term 'glory days' and I definately feel that when it comes to enjoying yourself and the company you are with whilst accomplishing little (that is how it felt anyway) school is just grand. Hanging with friends, doing what you do. Existing had never been so easy. The world has turned and left me here.

Marry me.

White picket.

Move along, move along.

It's that time again. I hate packing. I hate unpacking.

And I hate cardboard boxes.

Tree barrel.

The best in all the land.

Bathurst One Thousand.

Australian car racing's premier 'bogan' event of the year. I used to judge this sporting event and the people who went to it. The poor bloke on Saturday night whose head was a bleeding mess due to some other idiot glassing him in the head reflects the attitude of a lot of the spectators this race attracts. Despite this, most people are after a good time. I first went to this two years ago, the first time i have been to any car racing event and I am fortunate enough to have a friend whose grandparents live trackside. It makes for one hell of a day. Bluey.

Arguably the best wave for a longboard on the Central Coast when it fires. But even when it is not that epic once-a-year session, you can have a hell of a time.

Olive.

Olive Triplett was my grandmother. She was one talented old bird with a brush and canvas. One of my favourites.

Frogys.

Yes we all remember it - going around and around in circles on our rollerblades, sporting our fasionable plastic reinforced wrist guards. You could roll the night away.

Seeing the now derelict building almost brings a tear to my eye. Almost.

Charity stores.

Not only do Vinnies, The Salvos and the like make you happy but they also make people who are less fortunate crack a smile too. Thomas stoked on his new music appreciation equipment.

Rainy days.

Todays biggest headline: Oprah is coming to Australia. Whoop dee doo but please excuse me if i don't wet my pants in anticipation. This is what rainy days do to people - our intelligence drops and idiocy leaps abound.

Or you just get bored and take photos of your kitchen.

Spring.

There are a few things in particular that let me know spring has arrived.
Firstly, it's the north-east winds. While they may bring warmth they also terrorize the seas.
Secondly, it is the arch nemisis of the human foot - Bindies. Whilst they are still to reach their full and evil potential, I can see them popping up amongst the grass, idle until they strike some poor fellows' heels without warning.
Thirdly, it's those little white flowers that really signify that the season is starting to gain momentum.

Brilliance.

Re-discovered Spike Jonze's clip for Unkle -Heaven. I don't want to sound like a broken record but it is brilliant.

Time to ride, slide and glide.

hallelujah hal-alaia!

My alaia blank arrived today. It is so lightweight and the white paulownia looks majestic. Despite my failings as a craftsman, I know that this endeavour will be worth the effort and time - this thing will look awesome once it is finished. Delicious. The template is down. Plug in the tools and lets get nutty.

NYC misery

I miss New York. The sounds of the winter winds whistling through the alleys and the streets; the people with unflinching smiles and generous servings; those all-to-famous yellow cabs and their very distinct musk; the lights at night and Central Park by day. Miss New York, please come and whisk me away.

Home sweet home.

Europe.

I know more people going to Europe at the moment than i have fingers and toes. I guess i'll have to take solace in the fact i was there only a few months ago. Happy travels travellers.
